Vinod Khanna was born on October 6th 1946 in Peshawar, Pakistan. His parents were Kishanchand Khanna and Kamla. His father was a businessman handling textiles. He had a brother named Rajesh Khanna. He was married to Geetanjali they have two sons Rahul Khanna and Akshaye Khanna. He was a follower of Osho and moved into his commune in the USA. Khanna married Kavita in 1990 and they have two children, Sakshi and Shraddha. Vinod Khanna studied at Queen Marys School and St Xavier’s High School. He finished his graduate degree from Sydenham College.
Vinod Khanna is one of the manliest and debonair stars of the Indian film screen. Vinod Khanna was popular and leading actor in the seventies and the eighties. He is looked at to be one of the best looking actors in Bollywood.
Khanna debuted in Sunil Dutt's 1968 film Man Ka Meet as a villain. At the beginning of his career, he played supporting and negative characters in hit films such as PurabAurPaschim, SachaaJhutha and MeraGaonMeraDesh.
Vinod Khanna linked up the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the year 1997. In the same year, he was appointed for LokSabha poll, from Gurdaspur, East Punjab. Khanna became Union Minister for Culture and Tourism in the year 2002. Later he moved to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), as Minister of State
